Most "virus" calls in India are one of five things: browser hijackers, bundled adware, fake "PC optimizer" scareware, cracked-software malware, or ransomware-dropper behaviour caused by disabled Defender and no backup.

Our cleanup covers the machine, the browsers, startup items, scheduled tasks and accounts — plus the credential hygiene advice that actually prevents a repeat. For businesses we also check the shared folders, backup and admin rights.

If ransomware is suspected, our first instruction is the same every time: disconnect from the network and do not pay or "clean" until we have assessed whether backups and shadow copies are usable.
